Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Support Technician **Role Summary:** Provide comprehensive IT support, ensuring reliable operation of desktops, networks, servers, and telecommunications. Deliver timely, solution‑focused assistance to users, maintain system performance, enforce security protocols, and support infrastructure during office moves and reorganisations. **Expectations:** - Respond to help‑desk tickets within established SLA targets. - Proactively monitor and maintain system health, preventing issues before they impact users. - Facilitate hardware and software deployments, upgrades, and decommissioning. **Key Responsibilities:** - Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, network, and infrastructure problems. - Manage user accounts, printer setups, mobile devices, and IP networking. - Configure, install, and support Microsoft products and operating systems. - Setup and test workstations, servers, laptops, and peripherals. - Coordinate IT and telecom logistics during office relocations. - Monitor system and network performance; execute timely repairs or improvements. - Identify and mitigate network threats and vulnerabilities. - Configure and optimise network hardware/software to meet performance and security standards. - Maintain Cyber Essentials Accreditation and enforce network security policies. - Keep documentation up‑to‑date: incident reports, configuration records, and change logs. - Stay informed on industry trends and recommend new solutions to enhance IT operations. **Required Skills:** - Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. - Knowledge of Windows OS, networking fundamentals, and Microsoft infrastructure. - Experience with hardware setup (PCs, servers, printers, phones, mobiles). - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise under pressure, and work independently. - Excellent communication skills for user interaction and reporting. **Required Education & Certifications:** - CompTIA A+ (or equivalent). - Minimum 1 year of hands‑on IT support experience. - *Preferred:* CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ITIL v4 Foundation. ---
