Scrum Master
Role Summary
Serve as a servant‑leader and coach for one or more cross‑functional software development teams, driving continuous improvement, agile adoption, and the efficient delivery of high‑quality products.
Expectations
- Facilitate all Scrum events (stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) to stay time‑boxed and focused.
- Remove impediments, support self‑organization, and foster a culture of Kaizen and continuous improvement.
- Track and analyze agile metrics (velocity, burn‑up/down, flow) to surface systemic issues and guide performance improvements.
- Maintain and enhance program documentation and tooling configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily Scrum, sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
- Mentor team leads and cross‑functional members on agile values, principles, and lean‑agile practices.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate healthy team decision‑making.
- Co‑operate with other Scrum Masters in Scrum‑of‑Scrums coordination.
- Manage and coach the use of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps), Slack, G Suite, and Microsoft Teams.
- Assist Product Owner and Agile Coach with backlog refinement, user‑story definition, and product vision clarity.
- Compile and present qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics to stakeholders.
- Support program‑level documentation of agile best practices.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of the Agile Manifesto, SAFe principles, Scrum framework, and Lean‑Agile practices.
- Experience facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching teams towards self‑organization.
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) and collaboration tools (Slack, G Suite, Microsoft Teams).
- Analytical mindset: ability to interpret metrics, diagnose impediments, and propose actionable solutions.
- Facilitation expertise: techniques for engagement, feedback capture, and conflict resolution.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum one recognized Scrum Master certification: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM‑I).
- Preferred advanced certifications: A‑CSM, PSM II, SPC, Atlassian Certified Professional (Jira/Confluence Administration).
