Job Description
**Job Title:** Fleet System Manager **Role Summary:** Responsible for improving people, process, and technology performance of IT services on cruise ships. Works collaboratively with onboard and shoreside IT teams, providing application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity support, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations. **Expactations:** - Travel to and from ships >50% of the time; 8 weeks vacation per year. - Manage tickets, monitor KPIs, and participate in management meetings. - Communicate effectively with non‑IT users, managers, and executives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Diagnose and resolve incidents, problems, and change requests per ITIL standards. - Support and configure back‑office and front‑office applications (POS, PMS, supply‑chain, crew‑management). - Perform advanced end‑user/deskside support; assist with servers, networks, and onboard data centers as needed. - Monitor threats, enforce maritime cybersecurity compliance, and manage vendor escalations. - Coach, mentor, and develop junior team members; oversee ticket queue and KPI performance. - Produce high‑quality documentation, designs, and knowledge articles. - Liaise with clients and stakeholders on IT projects and service improvements. **Required Skills:** - Strong troubleshooting from basic triage to advanced levels; vendor management. - Solid understanding of networking, storage, mobile devices, and end‑user hardware. - Deep knowledge of cyber security principles, monitoring tools, and maritime compliance. - Service improvement, customer relationship building, and conflict resolution. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Service and project management experience; ability to work in a Managed Service environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience. - Minimum 5 years IT experience in the cruise industry, including onboard crew member service.
