Role Description

This is a contract role for a Fleet System Manager. The goal of this position is to fix and make things better from a people, process, and technology perspective onboard cruise ships. This position will work closely with existing IT onboard staff, shoreside IT staff, etc. to improve their performance and the delivery of IT services onboard. This function will be performed onboard cruise ships and remotely.

Qualifications

The Fleet System Manager role consists of but is not limited to the following Responsibilities:

Application and Infrastructure Support Experience, from simple triage to advanced troubleshooting skills, including ability to manage vendor involvement and escalations
Ability to support configure back of house and front of house applications, such as point of sale, property management, supply chain, and crew mgmt systems, etc.
Moderate understanding of networking, storage, storage, mobile, and end user devices
Deep understanding of cyber security principles and compliance requirements
Monitor for threats and ensure compliance with maritime cybersecurity regulations. 
Ability to provide advanced end user and deskside support and also provide assistance maintaining servers, networks, and onboard data centers when required.
Ability to coach and mentor junior individuals and build and develop teams
Execute and Manage tickets as assigned. Monitor team’s queue for performance and meeting KPIs as applicable.
Handle support and project requests that also come in via ticket, email, phone, etc.
Ability to work with non IT users, people managers, and executives. Manage communications with users, stakeholders, IT, etc.
Participation in management meetings as required
Ability to travel to and from the ships as required. Travel >50% with 8 weeks' vacation per year.

ACTIVITIES

The Fleet System Manager role consists of but is not limited to the following activities:

Assist in incident resolution, problem investigation, change assessments and service release deployments in accordance with the ITIL framework. 
Liaising directly with clients to support a variety of environments and IT projects.
Working with many technologies including operating systems, applications, servers, desktops, peripherals, infrastructure networks and telephone systems in a Managed Service environment.
Using Monitoring tools as required to monitor internal, external, and other systems.
Any other task required to fulfill the role of Fleet System Manager

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS

·        Service improvement skills and experience.

·        Building customer/partner relationships and delivering excellent customer service.

·        Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively and resolving conflicts.

·        Producing high quality documentation for designs and knowledge articles.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

·        Service and Project management Experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor in Technical related field, or equivalent experience.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

·        5+ years in the Cruise Industry

·        Must have worked onboard Cruise Ships as a Crew Member
