Job Description
**Job Title:** Financial Controller **Role Summary:** Lead the financial control of a multi‑site, investor‑backed buy‑and‑build business, establishing robust reporting, consolidation, and forecasting processes from day one. Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, year‑end statutory accounts, VAT returns, and board/investor reporting while supporting M&A and post‑acquisition integration in a high‑growth environment. **Expectations:** - Own group financial control, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. - Build and scale finance function infrastructure in an early‑stage, fast‑paced setting. - Proactively identify and implement improvements that support business growth and investor expectations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver monthly management accounts, year‑end statutory accounts, and VAT returns (including partial VAT). - Consolidate financial statements for parent and all individual sites. - Design and maintain budgets, financial models, and forecasting processes. - Monitor cash flow and develop predictive cash‑flow models. - Prepare board and investor reporting packs. - Support M&A activities and post‑acquisition integration. - Collaborate with founders to shape finance strategy and controls across the business. **Required Skills:** - ACA qualified with strong technical accounting and consolidation expertise. - 2–4 years post‑qualification experience in a multi‑site or similar environment. - Proficient in Xero, advanced Excel, and management reporting tools. - Hands‑on, action‑oriented mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities. - Experience in VC, PE, or family‑office‑backed operations a plus. - Ability to thrive in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment and drive structure building. **Required Education & Certifications:** - ACA (or equivalent) qualification. - Minimum of 2–4 years of post‑qualification accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑site or high‑growth setting.
