Job Title: Fire and Security Engineer
Role Summary: Provide hybrid on‑site installation, servicing and commissioning of fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems, prepare surveys, quotes and system designs, and develop and lead the Fire & Security department.
Expactations: Demonstrate expertise in fire and security systems, deliver high‑quality installations and designs, build a cohesive team, produce accurate surveys/quotations, and progress into department management while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys, prepare reports and generate accurate quotes.
- Design and specify fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems.
- Install, commission, test and service fire and security equipment.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal staff.
- Lead development of procedures, documentation and quality control processes.
- Mentor junior team members and manage departmental activities as the role progresses.
Required Skills:
- In‑depth knowledge of fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and control panels.
- Experienced in installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire & security systems.
- Proficient with system design software and engineering drawing tools (AutoCAD, Visio, etc.).
- Project management, scheduling and budgeting ability.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
- Leadership potential and willingness to develop a new department.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as DICSI (Associate/Professional), NICEIC or NAPFIN/EIA training, or equivalent.
- Fire protection qualifications (e.g., RPEM, NVQ in Fire Safety) desirable.
