Job Description
**Job title**: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Hybrid) **Role Summary**: Provide evidence‑based individual and couples counseling, manage a caseload of ≥15 weekly client sessions, maintain timely documentation, create assessment and treatment plans, and participate in supervision and ongoing professional development as an independent contractor. **Expactations**: - Maintain an active New Mexico clinical license (LMHC, LAMFT, LPCC, LMFT, LACSW, or LCSW) or be actively pursuing licensure. - Schedule and conduct at least 15 client sessions per week, balancing in‑person or telehealth modalities. - Complete all documentation and administrative tasks in accordance with office policies. - Engage in regular supervision and attend mandated organizational training sessions. - Demonstrate adherence to AFC’s values, policies, and compliance standards in all professional activities. **Key Responsibilities**: - Deliver therapy to individuals and couples using evidence‑based modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution‑Focused, EMDR, health psychology, marriage & family therapy). - Administer and interpret assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans. - Maintain accurate, timely records in the electronic health system. - Participate in bi‑weekly supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings. - Uphold confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements. - Manage independent contractor responsibilities, including licensure renewal, liability insurance, and self‑employment tax obligations. **Required Skills**: - Licensed clinical mental health professional in New Mexico. - Proficiency in evidence‑based therapeutic approaches for anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic health issues, and marital/family issues. - Strong documentation, time‑management, and organizational skills. - Ability to build rapport with diverse clients and exercise cultural humility. - Competence in telehealth platforms and electronic health records systems. - Self‑directed, proactive, and accountable for independent contractor duties. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. - Current New Mexico clinical license or active pursuit of one (LMHC, LAMFT, LPCC, LMFT, LACSW, LCSW).
