Security Systems Specialist
**Role Summary**
Senior technical specialist responsible for designing, programming, deploying, and optimizing integrated enterprise security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and networked platforms. Acts as subject‑matter expert and mentor, ensuring secure, reliable solutions and providing technical leadership throughout project lifecycles.
**Expectations**
- Lead high‑level technical initiatives and system commissions.
- Mentor junior team members and serve as escalation point for complex issues.
- Maintain vendor certifications, stay current with emerging technologies, and represent the organization as a trusted technical advisor.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop custom programming for security platforms to meet project requirements.
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and expansions; perform technical audits and recommend improvements.
- Configure, commission, and support access control, video, and integrated systems; ensure operational efficiency and performance.
- Manage databases for access control and video management, validate integrity before client hand‑off.
- Operate and test systems, lead acceptance testing, and conduct client demonstrations.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, technical mentorship, and escalation support.
- Design, implement, and support secure network environments for security systems; troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
- Develop standards, best practices, and documentation; maintain configuration control.
- Assist with proposal preparation, system design input, and special project scoping.
**Required Skills**
- Expert knowledge of access control, video surveillance, and integrated security platforms.
- Proficient in security system programming, configuration, and database management.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics in complex security and network environments.

**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Valid vendor and manufacturer certifications for access control, video surveillance, and network security (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, Siemens, Cisco).
- Continuous professional development in cybersecurity, emerging security technologies, and industry standards.
