Job Description
Job title: Development and Grants Intern – Summer 2026 Role Summary: Support a nonprofit development team by researching funding opportunities, drafting grant proposals, managing deadlines, and coordinating donor communications to secure resources for technology education programs. Expectations: 15 hours per week, fully remote, unpaid internship for college credit; deliver clear, concise grant documents and maintain accurate records; collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners; demonstrate strong time‑management and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: • Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and public sources. • Draft and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supplementary materials. • Maintain a grants calendar, track submission deadlines, and update status trackers. • Organize fundraising campaigns and craft donor communication materials. • Collect, organize, and analyze program data for reporting and sustainability metrics. • Propose new fundraising initiatives and partnership opportunities. Required Skills: • Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences. • Research and analytical skills to identify and evaluate funding sources. • Detail‑oriented organization and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and basic spreadsheet analysis. • Basic understanding of nonprofit development and grant writing principles. Required Education & Certifications: • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field). • No additional certifications required.
