**Job Title:** Product Business Analyst
**Role Summary:**
Own the discovery, definition, and prioritisation of product requirements for technology‑enabled railway operations solutions. Translate ambiguous operational needs into clear, outcome‑driven specifications, collaborate with strategy, engineering, and senior operational stakeholders, and drive evidence‑based decisions that optimise value, usability, risk, and feasibility in high‑pressure, real‑time environments.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver actionable, validated product requirements that resolve real operational pain points.
- Influence product direction and roadmap decisions through independent, data‑driven analysis.
- Maintain clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and informed decision‑making.
- Demonstrate strong judgement in trade‑off decisions and risk assessment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct strategic translation of product vision into detailed, testable requirements, covering functionality, user interactions, and capability needs.
- Lead market, data, and insight analysis to identify customer pain points, risks, and opportunities for value creation in safety‑ and performance‑critical contexts.
- Collaborate with Product Strategy to shape product roadmap, feature prioritisation, and design decisions, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
- Drive end‑to‑end analysis cycles from concept through design, providing clear recommendations and rationale to senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate decision enablement by synthesising evidence, challenging assumptions, and presenting concise, actionable insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong analytical and critical thinking, with proven ability to define problems and make trade‑off decisions in complex environments.
- Experience leading requirement analysis for technology‑enabled products, from discovery through to solution design.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, evolving or contested requirement landscapes while maintaining momentum.
- Expertise in using data, market trends, customer feedback, and performance metrics to drive design and prioritisation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex stakeholder needs into clear, actionable product intent.
- Practical Agile experience, focused on outcomes, value, and usability.
- Business acumen plus deep customer/user empathy; track record of delivering solutions that improve operational outcomes.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- No specific certifications required; domain knowledge in regulated or safety‑critical sectors (e.g., transport, utilities, infrastructure) is desirable.
