Job Description
Job title: Compliance Manager – iGaming Role Summary: Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance, AML, fraud, responsible gaming, payments, and expansion strategies for an online gaming company. Serve as primary regulatory liaison with AGCO, iGO and other authorities, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws while guiding the organization’s entry into new markets. Expectations: * Maintain full compliance with AGCO and iGO regulations, including registration, reporting, audits, and operational obligations. * Oversee a robust AML/CTF framework aligned with FINTRAC (or jurisdictional equivalents). * Develop responsible gaming programs and enforce data protection standards (PIPEDA, GDPR, etc.). * Directly manage licensing and certification processes for new regulated markets. * Build and mentor a compliance team, fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy Development – Craft overarching compliance, AML, fraud, payments, and responsible gaming plans. 2. Regulatory Liaison – Act as the main point of contact with AGCO, iGO, and other gaming regulators; advise executive leadership on emerging regulatory risks and opportunities. 3. Compliance Operations – Maintain and refine policies; conduct internal/external audits; implement corrective actions. 4. Licensing & Expansion – Lead licensing negotiations and approvals in new jurisdictions; design scalable compliance frameworks for multi‑jurisdictional operations. 5. AML & Fraud Oversight – Supervise AML/CTF program execution; monitor suspicious activity; collaborate with ops and payments to mitigate fraud losses. 6. Responsible Gaming – Implement RG initiatives; ensure marketing and customer interactions comply with RG principles. 7. Payments & Data Protection – Ensure payment partners and systems meet regulatory and financial requirements; coordinate with IT & Legal on privacy compliance. 8. Team Leadership – Manage, mentor, and grow the compliance team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement. Required Skills: * Strategic leadership in regulatory compliance for iGaming or regulated financial services. * Deep knowledge of AGCO/iGO rules, AML/CTF legislation, and responsible gaming frameworks. * Proven ability to manage regulator relationships and obtain licenses. * Strong understanding of payment systems, fraud detection, and risk management. * Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder‑management skills. * Experience leading and developing compliance teams. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field. * Professional compliance certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent) preferred. * Minimum of 5 years in compliance within iGaming, gaming, or regulated finance, with at least 5 years in a people‑leadership role.
