Job Description
**Job Title:** Ultrasound Systems Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and validate portable ultrasound imaging systems integrating hardware, software, and signal‑processing components to enable clinical diagnostics and remote patient monitoring. **Expectations:** Deliver complete system architecture, specifications, prototypes, and production‑ready designs; conduct risk management, formal verification, and validation; support clinical trials and regulatory submissions; collaborate across engineering, research, and clinical teams; work efficiently in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define system architecture and component specifications for ultrasound imaging devices. - Build, debug, and refine hardware‑software integration prototypes. - Implement advanced imaging, beamforming, and signal‑processing algorithms. - Conduct performance testing, field trials, and clinical validation studies. - Perform risk analysis, formal verification, and validation documentation for medical devices. - Coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders (researchers, clinicians, regulatory teams). **Required Skills:** - Proven experience in integrating complex hardware‑software systems. - Deep knowledge of ultrasound imaging system design and signal/image processing. - Proficiency in MATLAB and high‑level programming/scripting for rapid prototyping. - Medical device development expertise: risk management, verification, validation, and regulatory compliance. - Familiarity with clinical trial execution and field testing. - Strong problem‑solving, adaptability, and communication skills in a startup or high‑growth setting. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Ph.D. or MSc in Electrical/ Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related field with ≥5 years of relevant experience. - Advanced training in ultrasound physics, beamforming, and image reconstruction algorithms. - Knowledge of multiphysics simulation tools (Ansys, COMSOL) and ultrasound simulation software (Field II, K‑wave). - Experience with ultrasound transducer design, fabrication, and characterization. - Certifications such as ISO 13485 or FDA device development (preferred).
