Job Description
**Job Title:** Purchasing Manager **Role Summary** Lead supplier strategy, contract negotiation, and procurement operations in a regulated aerospace environment. Drive cost-effective sourcing, maintain high‑quality supplier relationships, and leverage data analytics to inform purchasing decisions. **Expactations** - Ensure purchasing activities comply with Canadian Controlled Good Program (CGP) and Transport Canada regulations. - Keep procurement within budget and report savings achieved through strategic sourcing. - Develop and mentor the purchasing team, fostering continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities** - Negotiate supplier agreements and manage vendor relationships to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals. - Monitor supplier performance, address delivery/quality/pricing issues, and maintain the Approved Vendor List. - Analyze purchasing data and supplier trends to optimize strategies, identify savings opportunities, and drive continuous improvement. - Track procurement metrics, conduct cost and financial analysis, and report on savings and budget adherence. - Maintain compliance for controlled goods, international sourcing, and ERP (JDE preferred) records, including Harmonized System codes. - Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing team members, providing training and performance management. **Required Skills** - 5+ years procurement experience with proven negotiation skills. - Strong data analysis, supplier performance evaluation, and financial metrics expertise. - Proficient in ERP systems (JDE experience an asset). - Advanced Microsoft Excel. - Familiarity with Canadian Controlled Goods Program compliance. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or related field. - CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser) or equivalent designation preferred.
