We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead supplier strategy, contract negotiations, and procurement operations within a highly regulated aerospace environment. This role is responsible for ensuring cost-effective sourcing, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and driving data-informed procurement decisions that support operational performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on procurement leader who combines strong negotiation skills with analytical insight and financial acumen.

Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

We are specifically looking for candidates who have demonstrated experience in:

Negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships

Collecting, organizing, and analyzing supplier data to evaluate performance and behavior

Financial analysis and cost management related to purchasing activities

What You Will Do Supplier & Contract Management

Lead supplier negotiations and procurement agreements.
Develop strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met.
Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, or pricing issues.

Strategic Procurement

Analyze purchasing data and supplier trends to optimize procurement strategies.
Identify cost savings opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain the company’s Approved Vendor List.

Financial & Performance Analysis

Track procurement metrics and conduct cost analysis.
Monitor departmental spending and ensure purchasing activities remain within budget.
Report on savings achieved through strategic sourcing.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and Transport Canada regulatory requirements.
Maintain compliance for controlled goods and international sourcing.
Manage Harmonized System codes and purchasing records within ERP systems.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing team members.
Provide direction, training, and performance management to support team growth.

Qualifications

5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
Proven experience negotiating with suppliers
Strong data analysis and supplier performance evaluation skills
Demonstrated experience with cost analysis and procurement financial metrics
Experience with ERP systems (JDE experience considered an asset)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
All candidates must receive approval under the Canadian Controlled Good Program (CGP) prior to their first day of employment with Field. Following on offer of employment, the candidate will be required to complete the required CGP assessment forms and provide the required documentation in order for Field representatives to confirm the required approval.

Education

Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser) or similar designation considered an asset
