Job Description
Job Title: Logistics Coordinator (18‑month contract) Role Summary: Coordinate all inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics for a battery manufacturing organization, ensuring efficient freight movement, accurate documentation, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Support fleet maintenance and incident response as needed, while driving continuous improvement in cost and performance. Expectations: - Deliver precise freight scheduling and carrier selection. - Maintain accurate master data and reporting. - Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives. - Ensure vehicle safety, compliance, and minimal downtime. - Adapt to fast‑paced, cross‑functional operations. Key Responsibilities: 1. **Freight Coordination** – Schedule inbound/outbound shipments, produce Bills of Lading, manage carrier quotes, track shipments, obtain Proof of Delivery, and respond to delays. 2. **Reporting & Analysis** – Maintain GPS, fleet management, and fuel card systems; analyze carrier performance and fleet utilization; prepare KPI reports. 3. **Cost Management** – Monitor KPIs, identify savings, and execute reduction projects. 4. **Safety & Compliance** – Review daily inspection reports, maintain certification, and ensure transport documents meet regulations. 5. **Fleet Support (Occasional)** – Oversee preventive maintenance program, coordinate unscheduled repairs, arrange rentals, and negotiate repair estimates. Required Skills: - 2+ years logistics/fleet management experience. - Proficiency in ERP (SAP preferred) and logistics tech (routing, GPS, fleet maintenance). - Advanced Microsoft Excel; solid Word and Outlook skills. - Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent verbal & written communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. - Organized, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlines. - Customer‑focused attitude and professional demeanor. - Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic environment. - French bilingual language skill is an asset. Required Education & Certifications: - Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related program (equivalent experience accepted). - ERP and logistics software certification (e.g., SAP Logistics) preferred. - No specific certifications required.
