Job Description

**Job Title** Backend Software Engineer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs and services for a fintech automation platform using Node.js, Express.js, and PostgreSQL. Drive architectural decisions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and availability in a high‑growth environment. **Expectations** - 3+ years of commercial backend development experience. - Proven expertise in JavaScript/Node.js and RESTful API design. - Experience building financial SaaS or fintech applications. - Strong problem‑solving, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently within a small, high‑performing engineering team. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect, build, and maintain robust backend APIs for complex financial workflows. - Write clean, testable, and documented code in JavaScript/Node.js with Express.js. - Collaborate on system design to support platform scaling and new feature delivery. - Ensure system reliability, performance, and high availability through monitoring and optimization. - Integrate PostgreSQL databases, writing efficient queries and managing data models. - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing. - Troubleshoot production incidents and provide timely resolutions. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and Express.js. - API development experience (RESTful services, GraphQL optional). - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and database schema design. - Understanding of containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git). - Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha) and automated testing practices. - Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred (optional). - No specific certifications required.
