Job Title: Backend Software Engineer

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Salary: $180,000 – $210,000

I am partnered with a rapidly growing Fintech business in New York City that has secured strong backing and is now entering an exciting new phase of platform expansion. They’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong Node.js expertise who will play a key role in building and scaling the core technology behind their automation and workflow solutions.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend APIs for complex financial applications.
Develop backend services using JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js.
Contribute to architectural decisions to support the platform’s next stage of growth.
Ensure reliability, performance, and high availability across backend systems.
Collaborate closely with a small, high-performing team of engineers.
Work on web applications and data systems leveraging PostgreSQL.

Qualifications:

3+ years of commercial backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js and API development.
Experience working in Fintech or on financial SaaS products.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL and modern backend frameworks.
Ambitious, proactive, and eager to contribute within a high-growth startup environment.
