Job title: Senior Data Engineer
Role Summary:
Lead the design, construction, and maintenance of enterprise‑grade data infrastructure. Build end‑to‑end pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses; ensure data quality, scalability, and security while collaborating with analytics, ML, and platform stakeholders.
Expectations:
- Demonstrate senior technical leadership and problem‑solving across the data ecosystem.
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of emerging data, cloud, and automation tools.
- Deliver robust, maintainable solutions that meet performance, compliance, and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, loading).
- Build and optimize data lakes and warehouses on cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and lineage documentation.
- Deploy and manage workflow orchestration (Airflow) and scheduling of data processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using IaC tools (Terraform, dbt).
- Integrate data from diverse sources (Fivetran, pipelines, APIs).
- Collaborate with data analysts, ML engineers, and platform teams to define data requirements.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply performance tuning.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Spark, and Airflow.
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.
- Expertise in dbt, Fivetran, and Terraform for data transformation and IaC.
- Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud environment: Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data warehousing principles.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Professional certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., SnowPro, Databricks Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics) preferred but not mandatory.
