**Job Title:** Systems Administrator
**Role Summary:**
Responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and operating Formula 1’s IT infrastructure—physical servers, virtual environments, cloud assets, and client systems—to meet business continuity, production, and security objectives. Acts as the primary escalation point, implements change management, ensures compliance with SOX, GDPR, ISO12001, and ITIL, and supports global events and day‑to‑day operations.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑availability systems with proactive monitoring and preventive maintenance.
- Provide flexible support (after‑hours, weekend, travel to events).
- Drive innovation through technology evaluation and project delivery.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and compliance standards.
- Communicate effectively across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Upgrade, install and maintain physical and virtual servers (VMWare, Hyper‑V, Nutanix).
2. Create, update, and manage IT documentation; support departmental documentation processes.
3. Evaluate current technology solutions, recommend improvements, and implement new systems.
4. Lead projects through lifecycle: planning, scheduling, stakeholder communication, delivery.
5. Implement change management procedures and SOX controls for infrastructure changes.
6. Monitor system performance, ensuring maximum uptime across fixed sites, cloud, and Grand Prix events.
7. Oversee backup, disaster‑recovery plans, and execute tests.
8. Troubleshoot hardware/software incidents via helpdesk; close incidents in line with incident‑management processes.
9. Conduct security assessments, enforce security controls, and maintain system integrity.
10. Produce root‑cause analysis reports; work with problem‑management processes.
11. Provide user support and act as escalation point for technology teams.
12. Work outside normal business hours, cover weekend remote support for events.
13. Travel to business sites and partner premises as required.
14. Keep abreast of industry developments and recommend actionable innovations.
15. Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, ISO12001, ITIL, and other regulatory frameworks.

- Microsoft 365 Suite & Azure Active Directory proficiency.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio design/implementation.
- Understanding of SAML, SSO, PAM, IAM, Active Roles, AD, Entra ID.
- SQL database support knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, macOS.
- Azure Logic Apps and device‑management tools.
- Virtualisation & cloud solutions (VMWare, Hyper‑V, Nutanix) experience.
- Customer‑service orientation and teamwork skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Degree, HND, or equivalent in IT or related field.
- Certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals/Pro, Microsoft 365 Certification, Windows Server, Linux Essentials, or relevant virtualization/security credentials.
- Current UK driving licence (required for travel to sites; not essential for technical performance).
