**Job Title:** Contract Shopify Software Developer
**Role Summary:**
Lead end‑to‑end Shopify development for multiple brands over a 6‑month contract, delivering consistent theme architecture, scalable features, robust integrations, and automation testing, while maintaining comprehensive documentation and performance optimization.
**Expectations:**
- 6‑month contract duration.
- Deliver fully functional Shopify themes and integrations across multi‑brand, multi‑regional environments.
- Establish and maintain an automation testing strategy and documentation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Translate product requirements into technical feature mappings aligned with Shopify capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain consistent Shopify themes for diverse brands and regions.
- Build and optimize custom integrations with internal systems and third‑party services (APIs, webhooks, metafields, price lists, localization).
- Define, implement, and maintain automation testing strategies for Shopify features and releases.
- Own existing features, reverse‑engineer implementations, and produce detailed technical documentation.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless delivery and maintainability.
- Optimize site performance, scalability, accessibility, and SEO compliance.
- Enforce Shopify best practices, coding standards, and secure development guidelines.
**Required Skills:**
- 6–8 years of Shopify development experience.
- Expertise in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front‑end frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with Shopify Front‑end, themes, and multi‑brand/geography customization.
- Deep understanding of Shopify back‑end APIs, app development, webhooks, metafields, and custom data models.
- Proven ability to implement and manage price lists, localization, and region‑specific content.
- Experience building custom integrations and defining/executing automation testing strategies.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to create clear, structured documentation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross‑functional teamwork.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with headless Shopify implementations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
- Exposure to Agile delivery practices.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field *or equivalent professional experience*.
