Job Description
Job title: Data Protection Officer Role Summary: Contractual role to lead privacy compliance across European operations, perform privacy impact assessments, manage supplier assessments, and support GDPR/PECR evidence collection. Expectations: Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, deliver timely audits and risk mitigation, and act as a privacy champion within cross‑functional projects. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct privacy impact assessments and supplier due‑diligence reviews, identify risks, and recommend remediation. - Participate in Privacy by Design steering committees on data‑related projects. - Maintain and audit the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA). - Manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and incident/breach reporting as required. - Utilize Business Gateway tools for ROPA, legal and supplier case management, and new digital privacy assessments. - Oversee risk‑management platforms, including Supplier Due Diligence and the Compliance Risk Register. Required Skills: - In‑depth knowledge of GDPR, UK DPA, PECR/E‑Privacy Directive, EU AI Act, PCI, and China PIPL. - Strong understanding of customer database life‑cycle and marketing compliance obligations. - Proven experience in data processing audits, privacy impact assessments, and risk identification/remediation. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum one year of professional experience in a data protection role. - IAPP CIPP/E certification (mandatory); IAPP CIPT desirable.
