Data Protection Officer - 6 Months Contract

Day Rate: Negotiable Inside IR35

Oxfordshire

The Company

A leading, luxury shopping destination are looking for a Data Protection Officer to join their team on a contract basis.

The Data Protection Officer will support the Data Protection Team in maintaining compliance and safeguarding data across the company's European Locations. Key responsibilities include carrying out privacy assessments, conducting data audits, managing supplier evaluations, and identifying risks and mitigation measures.

The Role

Complete privacy and supplier assessments, including identifying risks and recommending remediation.
Participate in Privacy by Design activities by attending customer-data-related project steering committees.
Audit and maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and incident/breach management procedures, as needed.
Business Gateway tools, including: ROPA, Legal and supplier case management, New digital privacy assessments
Risk management platforms, including Supplier Due Diligence and the Compliance Risk Register.

The Candidate

Certifications in IAPP CIPP/E (required),IAPP CIPT (desirable)
Knowledge of PECR / E-Privacy Directive, EU AI Act, PCI requirements, China PIPL.
Strong understanding of the customer database lifecycle and marketing compliance obligations
Experience conducting data processing audits
Experience completing privacy and supplier assessments, including risk identification and remediation
Knowledge of UK DPA and EU GDPR
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a data protection role
