Job title: Senior PowerBuilder Developer (H/F)
Role Summary:
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise PowerBuilder applications across the full application lifecycle. Lead technical analysis, implementation, and optimization while ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
Expectations:
- Deliver high‑quality, scalable PowerBuilder solutions on time
- Maintain and enhance existing applications with minimal downtime
- Demonstrate rigorous testing and documentation procedures
- Collaborate across cross‑functional teams, providing clear technical guidance
- Apply advanced skills in PL/SQL, Transact‑SQL, and Informix SQL to support database‑centric projects
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analysis & Design
• Gather and analyze business requirements
• Create technical designs using UML, MERISE, and client‑server architecture principles
• Model and evolve Oracle, Sybase, and Informix databases
2. Development & Integration
• Develop, maintain, and optimize PowerBuilder codebases
• Write and tune SQL (PL/SQL, T‑SQL, Informix SQL) queries
• Integrate interfaces and services using JSON, XML, CSV, and SOAP Web Services
• Build UI screens, modules, batch processes, and data flows
3. Maintenance & Enhancement
• Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance on legacy systems
• Implement performance tuning and continuous improvement initiatives
4. Testing & Documentation
• Author detailed technical and functional specifications
• Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing
• Produce and update supporting documentation
5. Project Support
• Participate in migration and modernization projects
Required Skills:
- Proficient in PowerBuilder development (Forms, DataWindows, scripting)
- Strong command of PL/SQL, Transact‑SQL, and Informix SQL
- Deep knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, Informix database environments
- Experience with JSON, XML, CSV, and SOAP Web Services
- UML and MERISE modeling capabilities
- Analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving aptitude
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (preferred)
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Professional certifications in PowerBuilder, Oracle SQL, or equivalent database technologies are a plus
