**Job Title:** Systems Engineer Linux
**Role Summary:** A fixed-term IT professional responsible for maintaining and optimizing enterprise Linux infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, security, and resilience. Focuses on automation, system modernization, and cross-team collaboration to support global business operations.
**Expectations:** Proactively manage infrastructure configurations, resolve technical issues, implement automation solutions, and maintain compliance with ITIL standards. Demonstrate expertise in Linux environments, containerization, cloud platforms, and virtualization.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Implement and maintain Linux infrastructure configurations per industry best practices.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and address them to prevent disruptions.
- Resolve complex incidents, escalations, and operational failures promptly.
- Develop technical documentation, diagrams, and automation scripts.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to design, deploy, and support IT solutions.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Integrate automation tools (e.g., Ansible, CI/CD pipelines) to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Support on-call rotations for after-hours system failures.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in Linux system administration (installation, hardening, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, Git version control).
- Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for container management.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure (virtual machines, storage, networking).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Xen).
- Networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, PKI, firewalls.
- Monitoring systems and ITIL-based incident management.
- CI/CD pipeline integration expertise (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience, preferably in enterprise environments.
- Proven Linux administration experience (mandatory).
- Relevant certifications (Linux, Ansible, Kubernetes) preferred.
