**Job title**: Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise‑grade Microsoft Azure solutions that are scalable, secure, and high‑performance. Lead cloud transformation initiatives, automate infrastructure, ensure compliance, and mentor team members.
**Expectations**

- Proven track record of architecting and managing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, deploy, and maintain Azure-based cloud architectures (VMs, App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, AKS, storage, networking).
2. Integrate on‑premises and hybrid cloud workloads, managing VPN, ExpressRoute, and NSGs.
3. Automate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
4. Optimize cloud costs and performance; implement scaling, monitoring, and alerting via Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics.
5. Configure identity and access, leveraging Azure AD, Conditional Access, RBAC, and Managed Identities.
6. Lead migration projects, performing readiness assessments, lift‑and‑shift, and modernization strategies.
7. Implement and manage disaster recovery, backup, high‑availability, and security controls (Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud).
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks; maintain up‑to‑date documentation of architecture, processes, and configurations.
9. Mentor teammates and provide technical guidance on cloud best practices.
**Required Skills**
- Microsoft Azure fundamentals (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Strong scripting/automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, Terraform).
- Azure networking, storage, security, and identity services.
- CI/CD and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Cloud cost management and performance tuning.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Experience with ITIL or equivalent incident/change management processes.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Microsoft 365 certifications for hybrid scenarios
