Role Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fashion Design Assistant to support our design and production process as we scale our collections in New York and Japan. The intern will assist in daily design tasks, including creating design concepts, drafting sketches, and providing support for interior design projects. Responsibilities will also include customer service interactions and assisting in graphic design activities. This is a hybrid role located in the New York City Metropolitan Area, with some work from home being acceptable.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in research and mood board development for seasonal collections, tracking trends relevant to petite workwear and global fashion markets
Support tech pack creation, CADs, and line sheets for sampling and production
Help fit garments, take fit notes, and ensure petite-friendly proportions are consistent
Maintain organized fabric swatch library, trims, and design archives
Prepare presentations and materials for lookbooks, line reviews, and trade shows
Support photoshoots, showroom setups, and pop-up events as needed
Conduct competitor research, pricing analysis, and assist with merchandising strategy
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Fashion Design program (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's)
Must be able to receive academic credit from their school for this position
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop; experience with CLO3D or similar software a plus
Strong sketching and CAD skills, excellent eye for proportion and detail
Familiarity with garment construction, patternmaking, and technical terminology
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a start-up environment
Interest in Japanese craftsmanship, luxury textiles, and women's workwear preferred
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
