Job Specifications

The Certified Application Developer will be responsible for the ground-up configuration, development, and customization of a new ServiceNow instance. This includes translating business requirements into technical solutions and implementing best practices to ensure a scalable and maintainable platform.

Responsibilities

Requirements analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and define the scope for platform configuration.
Platform configuration: Perform initial setup and configuration of the new instance, including user and group administration, access control lists (ACLs), and platform security settings.
Scripting: Write and maintain server-side and client-side scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, and Client Scripts, using JavaScript and GlideScript.
Workflow and Flow Designer: Implement workflows to automate business processes and tasks across the platform.
Integrations: Build and manage integrations with third-party systems using REST and SOAP web services to ensure seamless data transfer and automation.
User experience (UX) development: Configure the user interface using UI Policies, UI Pages, Service Portal widgets, and UI Builder to create a user-friendly and intuitive experience.
Data management: Assist with the migration of legacy data and other data imports into the new ServiceNow instance.
Testing and quality assurance: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that all configurations and developments are of high quality and meet business needs.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, process flows, and user guides.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to other developers or system administrators as the platform grows.

Qualifications

Certification: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and Certified System Administrator (CSA) certifications are required.
Experience: X+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, including a strong portfolio of custom applications and configurations.
Technical skills:
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and web technologies (HTML, CSS).
Experience with building complex integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
Expertise in developing and customizing applications using the ServiceNow platform tools (Studio, App Engine Studio, Flow Designer).
Familiarity with database concepts and structure within the ServiceNow platform.
Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
