Position Overview
The PProduct Development Associate is responsible for managing the end-to-end development process across multiple product categories including wovens, denim, leather, knitwear, and cut & sew. Working closely with the Director of Design Development & Technical Design, the PD Manager ensures each collection is developed on time, within budget, and in alignment with the brand's design vision and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with design, technical design, and production teams to execute seasonal collections from initial concept through to SMS (Salesman Samples).
Manage product development across a diverse range of categories: wovens, denim, leather, knitwear, and cut & sew.
Own and manage all product data in PLM, ensuring accurate and timely input of BOMs, style information, and material details.
Liaise with domestic and international vendors to track development progress, request prototypes, and ensure timely sample delivery.
Attend fittings and participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure product feasibility and adherence to design intent.
Monitor and track sample status, development calendars, and costings to meet brand margin targets and seasonal timelines.
Collaborate with the design and sourcing teams to identify and select appropriate materials, trims, and washes.
Troubleshoot development issues, anticipate potential challenges, and provide solutions that maintain quality and aesthetic standards.
Qualifications & Skills
4-6 years of experience in product development, preferably in contemporary or advanced contemporary fashion.
Strong experience across multiple product categories including wovens, denim, leather, knitwear, and cut & sew.
Proficient in PLM systems (Centric or equivalent).
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrication, and fit.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong communicator.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Salary $70,000-$75,000
