Job Title: BESS Project Manager / Project Management Consultant - Engineering & Construction
About the Role
Our client's Engineering & Construction (E&C) Business Unit is seeking experienced Project Management professionals to join the Project Management Team. These roles are focused on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, supporting activities from early-stage development through pre-construction, and ensuring seamless handoff to Construction teams.
The ideal candidate will have a technical degree in Engineering or Project Management and a strong background in reconstruction or capital project delivery within energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure. This is an opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of projects across the U.S. and Canada, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver clean energy solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate project development teams to meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
Oversee project variables including environmental, regulatory, land acquisition, and interconnection.
Develop and optimize technical project scope to improve financial and operational feasibility.
Support negotiations (PPA, GIA) and jurisdictional requirements with development teams.
Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and procurement on project deliverables.
Manage and present financial models to secure executive budget approvals.
Source, negotiate, and execute contracts for geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC services.
Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
Ensure smooth transition of projects to Construction Project Managers with executable plans.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to scale for growth.
Travel as required for project sites and public hearings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field (required).
3-5+ years of project management experience, preferably in reconstruction, capital projects, or large-scale infrastructure/energy.
Strong technical understanding of engineering and construction project lifecycles.
Excellent communication, analytical, financial modeling, and leadership skills.
Experience with renewables, energy storage, or electricity markets is a plus.
PMP certification and advanced Excel skills preferred.
