Senior Application Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Support Engineer to lead the support of complex, mission-critical production systems in a large corporate environment. This role requires expertise in incident management, problem management, change/release management, and other ITIL-based functions, with a strong focus on driving service excellence and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead application support for large, complex, Tier 1 production applications, including IIS/.NET/SQL-based systems, multi-tier web hosting environments, and clustered or load-balanced infrastructures.
Drive incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis for production issues.
Manage change and release processes, ensuring compliance with corporate policies around security, audit, and documentation.
Partner closely with development and business teams to gain deep understanding of applications, their business functionality, and upstream/downstream dependencies.
Champion the adoption of core monitoring, automation, and support tools to mature global support services.
Provide technical leadership to global teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
Act as a trusted liaison between business partners, development teams, and infrastructure support groups.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience working with SQL in production environments.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
Proficiency in Java-based application support and troubleshooting.
Experience with application performance monitoring tools, particularly AppDynamics.
Working knowledge of Splunk for log analysis and monitoring.
Experience with ServiceNow for ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, release).
Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices for service management.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional discussions, drive resolution in high-pressure situations, and strengthen business/IT partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise-scale, multi-tier applications with high availability requirements.
Familiarity with clustering, load balancing, and distributed system architectures.
Proven success in leading service transformation initiatives or process maturity efforts.
