What You'll Be Driving
Join an experienced team responsible for maintaining and evolving a globally distributed VMware-based virtualization platform. You'll:
Engineer tools and automation to improve the manageability and resilience of a heterogeneous infrastructure
Contribute to the development of provisioning systems and command-based user interfaces for configuring virtual machines
Build secure, modular, and scalable code to integrate with internal and open-source systems
Collaborate with globally distributed teams to support a highly available environment
Core Skills You Bring
Strong coding expertise in Python and Perl
Experience developing and maintaining large-scale modular projects
Proficiency with SQL and database programming
Comfortable using modern development tools: Git, Jenkins, Agile workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
Ability to review code, write clear documentation, and work closely with others on implementation
Advanced knowledge of Linux, including UNIX system calls
Backend development for stateful distributed systems offering high-availability APIs
Bonus Strengths
Familiarity working in large, multi-national organizations
Hands-on experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale IaaS platforms, ideally using virtualization tools like VMware
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, networking, and storage
Exposure to niche programming languages
Know-how in designing proactive monitoring systems and distributed telemetry
