FULL TIME Java React Fullstack Engineer (70% backend & 30% frontend) - ONSITE in Needham (4 days per week)
Location: hybrid onsite 4 days per week in Needham MA

Keys to the Position:
1. Must be strong with core Java - This is critical for the person to be successful in the role. 70% backend and 30 % front end
2. Must have UI development experience. React is ideal as this is what we are working with.
3. Must have experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
4. Must be strong with an RDBMS - Oracle is preferred and strong SQL skills is a must as the team is working with the database and SQL on a daily basis. They should be a 9 out of 10 with this.
5. Must have experience working with the cloud - AWS is the preference.
6. Financial services experience is a plus
7. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This individual will contribute to the development of a new platform for producing, consuming and collaborating on investment content, as well as to support highly customized homegrown solutions and vendor products.
Responsibilities
* Work with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans
* Design, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack - services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure and back-end
* Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing
* Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance
* Author technical design and support documentation
Qualifications
* 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems (or equivalent depth).
* Back end: Java 11+ (Spring Boot), Python 3.x; REST/GraphQL APIs; messaging/streaming (e.g., SNS/SQS/Kafka).
* Front end: React 18+, TypeScript, modern state management, component testing (Jest/RTL/Cypress), accessibility and performance best practices.
* Cloud & DevOps: AWS (ECS/EKS/Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab), IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
* Data: Strong Oracle experience (SQL/PL SQL, indexing/partitioning, query tuning, transaction semantics).
* Quality & Reliability: automated testing, observability, and production support/on call rotation experience.
* Ways of working: Agile delivery, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and a track record of independent problem solving
Nice to have
* Capital markets domain knowledge: order/execution workflows, market data (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv), FIX protocols, pricing/risk, reference data.
* Performance engineering (profiling, JVM tuning, front end perf budgets), cost optimization on AWS.
* Security fundamentals (OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, OWASP, KMS/HashiCorp Vault).
Estimated Min Rate: $105000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $150000.00
