About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Projects Manager to lead the implementation of a new IFRS 16 lease accounting software solution. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of this critical project, ensuring that processes, controls, and reporting meet both accounting standards and business needs.

This is a high-profile role that will require strong project management, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Develop and own the project plan, embedding clear steps and milestones to ensure successful delivery of the IFRS 16 software implementation.
Design & Impact Assessment: Support the design phase by assessing process changes and identifying ways to minimise the accounting and reporting impact of the new system.
Data Migration: Oversee the transition of lease data from Excel into the new system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS 16 requirements.
System Testing & Validation: Coordinate and execute system testing, ensuring outputs are fit for purpose, reporting functionality meets stakeholder needs, and controls are embedded.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the link between finance, IT, and external software providers, ensuring all parties are aligned and risks are managed proactively.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline lease accounting processes and enhance reporting efficiency beyond the implementation.

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical knowledge of IFRS 16.
Proven experience in finance transformation, systems implementation, or project delivery.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to problem-solve and challenge assumptions.
Excellent project planning and organisational skills, with a track record of delivering to tight deadlines.
Confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders across finance, IT, and the wider business.
Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
