Job Specifications

Referment have partnered with one of the world's leading multi-strategy hedge funds who have recently opened up a new search in their Applied AI technology team. This team is responsible for building the next generation of AI-powered investment tools used by Analysts, Researchers and Portfolio Managers across many asset classes.

This is an exciting new role with the firm with lots of scope for impact and progression as the successful candidate will play a key part in building technology which shapes how front office stakeholders use AI in their day to day workflows. The successful applicant must be a proven full stack developer with extensive experience in both frontend and backend development, ideally with React.js and Node.js as the primary programming languages. Any experience working in financial markets and applied AI would be highly advantageous.

Key Requirements

7+ years of professional software development experience with at least 4 years in full-stack development
Expert-level proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem
Strong experience with Node.js for building scalable backend services
Experience with real-time web technologies (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events)
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code

Desirable Skills

Understanding of AI agent architectures and multi-agent systems
Experience integrating LLMs and AI models into production applications
Familiarity with OpenAI APIs, Anthropic Claude, or similar AI services
Experience with vector databases and semantic search systems
