Job Description:
AWS Architect
We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect to join our team, specializing in application architecture for one of our services projects at a financial client. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in AWS architecture at an enterprise level, ideally with exposure to the financial industry. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions to support a variety of Wealth Management applications , while collaborating with multiple enterprise technology groups.
Location: Downtown Toronto, 1-2 days per week
Contract: 12-months

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with US Wealth application teams to assist in designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS-based solutions
Assist in defining cloud-native architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, serverless, containerization).
Support integration of AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, and API Gateway into application workflows
Ensure alignment with clients enterprise architecture standards and cloud governance policies.
Provide guidance on infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations for optimization and compliance.
Advise on AWS best practices for security, performance, and cost management
Conduct cloud readiness assessments and migration planning for legacy applications.
Support DevOps enablement, including CI/CD pipeline design and automation using AWS tools.
Provide technical mentorship to development and operations teams on AWS capabilities.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving architecture-related issues during implementation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are translated into effective cloud solutions.
Key Qualifications:
8+ years experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS.
Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns including microservices, serverless computing, and containerization.
Hands-on expertise with core AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and IAM.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and cloud governance policies.
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
Experience conducting architecture reviews and providing optimization and compliance recommendations.
Deep knowledge of AWS best practices for security, performance tuning, and cost management.
Ability to perform cloud readiness assessments and develop migration strategies for legacy applications.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline automation using AWS tools (e.g., CodePipeline, CodeBuild).
Strong mentoring and communication skills to guide development and operations teams on AWS capabilities.
Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving architecture-related issues during implementation phases.
Ability to translate business requirements into effective cloud-based technical solutions.
AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
