My client, a leading global hedge fund, is seeking an experienced UI Engineer to join their high-performing Technology team in New York.
The successful candidate will play an important hand-on role in shaping the UI platform, partnering closely with product owners and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact UI solutions. This is a high visibility role at the intersection of technology and business, offering the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and enhance the developer experience across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Designing, developing, and scaling the internal UI platform that underpins 100+ business applications.
Building and maintaining reusable front-end components using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Driving architectural improvements, development tools, and implementation consistency across teams.
Working across the stack on backend integration, API design, performance optimisation, and observability.
Partnering with product owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Mentoring junior engineers, shaping code quality standards, and promoting best practices.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
3-5 years of professional front-end engineering experience.
Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript toolkits.
Experience working with REST APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with frameworks and libraries such as Redux, Zustand, RxJS, D3, AgGrid, or Highcharts.
Database experience with both SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Knowledge of distributed caches (Redis, Memcached).
Proficiency in testing frameworks (RTL, Mocha, Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
Proven experience delivering scalable, data-intensive applications with a focus on performance and usability.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex issues methodically.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
