Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team: Develop and optimize operational processes for the buy/sell operations within the supply chain, ensuring efficient material flow and process improvement.
Key Projects: Map current state processes, collaborate with SMEs to define future state, and implement new tools and reports to support buy/sell operations.

Conduct current state mapping and future state planning.
Facilitate meetings with SMEs and stakeholders to gather requirements.
Develop process documentation, tools, and reports.
Collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Phase: Onboard & Current State
Quickly onboard to existing processes, tools, and reporting to establish and align current-state processes.
Engage SMEs and stakeholders to capture requirements and identify gaps.
Phase: Design, Tools & Process Development
Define future-state processes and create practical process documentation, tools, and reports to enable the Buy/Sell operations role.
Work with Engineering and Project Management to translate functional requirements into system changes and change-management plans.
Present functional decisions and alignments to Microsoft management and cross-functional partners.
Phase: UAT, Launch & Run the Business
Represent Buy/Sell operations during UAT, validating end-to-end flows, processes, reports, and tools.
Support cutover and post-launch activities to ensure stable 'run the business' operations.
Execute and support SAP transactional activities (e.g., PO creation) and ensure accurate transaction handling.
Phase: Continuous Improvement, Automation & Documentation
Create and maintain a Transaction Manual and supplemental documentation (escalation paths, examples, reports, automation notes) to support role handover.
Identify and recommend workflow automation and process improvements; track and report efficiency gains.
Document lessons learned and capture best practices for continuous optimization.
Key Deliverables
Current State and Future State process maps and supporting documentation.
Process documentation, tools, and reports to meet future-state goals.
Buy/Sell Ops Transaction Manual and SAP transaction guidance.
UAT representation artifacts and validated change-management plans.
Handover package including completed documentation, open action log resolution, and Best Practices/Recommendations summary.

Candidate Requirements
Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years (Level 3 expected).
Degrees or Certifications Required: No specific degree/certification required; relevant operations or industrial engineering experience preferred.
Disqualifiers: No supply chain or operations experience; inability to synthesize requirements and develop processes.
Best vs. Average: Best candidates have strong supply chain/operations backgrounds and have led process development projects; average candidates may lack direct process mapping or supply chain experience.
Performance Indicators: Effective process mapping, successful collaboration with SMEs, and delivery of actionable process improvements.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
Process Mapping/Development: Minimum 5 years, experience in current/future state mapping and process engineering.
Excel: Minimum 3-5 years, advanced use for tools and reporting.
SAP: Minimum 3-5 years, experience in supply chain or operations context.
