Role: Senior Engineering Manager
Location: Manchester (2 days per week)
Salary: PS100k + bonus

Are you passionate about building high-performing product engineering teams and delivering scalable, high-volume transactional systems which impact millions of customers on a daily basis.
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering capability across multiple squads, empowering innovation and driving technical excellence at scale.
As a senior leader in our technology organisation, you'll oversee the performance, delivery and development of 5 engineering squads focused on backend and high-transaction services. You'll act as a coach, mentor and strategist -- guiding technical delivery, ensuring agile best practices, and aligning roadmaps with business objectives.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and develop a high-performing team of Engineering Managers, Tech Leads and Engineers.
Own the technical strategy and roadmap for backend and transactional squads
Build and maintain effective Agile and DevOps ways of working across hybrid onshore/offshore teams
Drive continuous improvement in delivery, quality and velocity
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Architecture, DevOps and Service
Champion a culture of feedback, growth and innovation
What You'll Bring
Strong track record and experience in leading high performing engineering teams.
Proven success in managing complex software development environments and budgets and delivering scalable, high-volume microservices and event-driven architecture platforms.
Deep understanding of Agile, DevOps and the full software delivery lifecycle
Technical proficiency across AWS services (Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, EventBridge, etc.)
Strong grasp of modern engineering practices - CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, TDD, BDD
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
Passion for coaching and developing engineering talent
AWS (Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, CDK, EventBridge, CloudFormation)
CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Miro, Teams
