Job Specifications
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract-to-hire position with a client in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). This role will focus on developing new features and maintaining existing functionality for internally developed web applications and reporting interfaces. Our technology stack includes Java, Angular/ReactJS, and Oracle, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working across these technologies.
Rate Range: $60 hour to $70 hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and evaluate problem definitions and requirements
Design and document high-level software architecture and development approaches
Develop new features and enhance existing ones using industry best practices
Maintain and troubleshoot software across development and production environments
Conduct peer code and design reviews
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Leverage AI tools effectively throughout the SDLC
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and Support
Explore and evaluate new technologies and platforms through proof-of-concept efforts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with:
Core Java
Cloud-native application development
Oracle and SQL
ETL tools and Autosys
Java Enterprise frameworks
Web/REST microservices
Spring Framework
Kafka, JDBC, Hibernate
CI/CD automation tools
Agile development methodologies
Linux-based development and troubleshooting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot
Knowledge of workflow platforms such as Pega or Camunda
Exposure to Scala and/or Python
