Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer and Architect

Location: Southeast Michigan Hybrid

About the opportunity

Adecco is happy to present the following opportunity with an established enterprise. This senior, hands on role keeps the lights on today while shaping where the platform goes next. You will steady day to day operations and lead modernizations across servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud. Automation is a big theme.

What you will tackle

* Keep a hybrid environment healthy across Windows and Linux, VMware based virtualization, and enterprise storage and networking

* Troubleshoot tough incidents, drive root cause, and put long term fixes in place

* Design and deliver improvements that boost reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency

* Support cloud workloads in AWS or Azure and connect them cleanly to on premises systems

* Automate repetitive work with scripting and infrastructure as code

* Partner with application, security, and operations teams and share best practices with junior engineers

* Lead and contribute to upgrades, migrations, and refresh projects with solid change control and documentation

What you bring

* Senior level enterprise infrastructure background working across Windows Server and Linux

* Strong VMware experience with vSphere and related tooling

* Solid grounding in storage, backups, and disaster recovery in an enterprise setting

* Networking fundamentals TCP IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and cloud networking concepts

* Hands on automation using tools like PowerShell or Python and IaC platforms

* Comfortable owning both operations and project work in a global environment

* Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Nice to have

* Experience in large, multi site environments

* Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms
