Job Title: Cloud/DevOps Engineer
Location: Multiple Locations
Type: Hybrid
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering,
Systems Analysis or a related field or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of industry experience in building and supporting enterprise level systems as a platform engineer or equivalent in a production environment
5+ years of hands-on experience implementing, supporting, and using the tools and services required for DevOps best practices.
This includes but not limited to:
* Linux (RHEL)
* Application services (WebSphere, Tomcat, Spring Boot)
* Source code control systems (Subversion, Git variants)
* Build systems (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI)
* Static analysis tools (SonarQube, Fortify)
* Containerization tools (Docker, Podman)
* Orchestration and environment management tools (Puppet, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform)
* Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog)
* Programming or scripting languages (Java, C++, C#, Python, Bash)
* Automated testing tools (Selenium, TestComplete)
3+ years hands-on experience with AWS services - building, deploying, and monitoring
using AWS tools and services such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CloudWatch, AWS
CloudFormation, and AWS X-Ray
Thorough understanding of APIs, gateways, orchestrators, databases, networking,
monitoring, configuration management and security best practices for a production
environment
Responsibilities:
Working with the development teams and DevOps teams to create and implement STAR's
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
Work with National IT to create and implement the tooling required for Continuous Delivery
Ensure our systems and tooling are future proof and can accommodate growth and continually changing requirements
Participate in design and planning sessions to ensure changes to tooling or services are accounted for
Design and implement process improvements
Coach and mentor others on Platform Engineering and DevOps best practices
