About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to drive agile delivery for an SAP S/4HANA implementation within a large-scale hybrid Agile program. This role supports a multi-year enterprise ERP transformation spanning finance, supply chain, HR, and enterprise safety systems.
Note: Candidates must be able to temporarily use their own laptop until company-issued hardware arrives.
Key Responsibilities:
Scrum Leadership
Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Support 1-2 Agile teams, acting as a servant leader and agile coach
Promote continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
Hybrid Agile Delivery
Align Agile teams with traditional PMO deliverables (e.g., RAID logs, stage gates)
Support cross-functional coordination with waterfall-aligned workstreams (e.g., testing, data migration, cutover)
Ensure alignment with program increments and broader release plans
Planning & Coordination
Partner with Product Owners and SAP teams to refine and prioritize backlogs
Facilitate story sizing and planning sessions (user stories, tech tasks, SAP enhancements)
Track and resolve blockers, risks, and team interdependencies
Agile at Scale
Participate in scaled Agile events (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, etc.)
Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Architects, and other Scrum Masters
Contribute to agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, team health indicators)
Tools & Technology
Use Jira and Confluence to manage delivery workflows
Coordinate with SAP technical and functional leads (e.g., FI/CO, MM, ABAP, Basis)
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile integration
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master on enterprise Agile teams
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems (SAP ECC, Oracle, Workday)
Understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and hybrid delivery in enterprise settings
Experience with SAP Activate methodology and SAP implementation lifecycles
Familiarity with scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe)
Strong facilitation, coaching, and team leadership skills
Proficiency in tools: Jira, Confluence, MS Project, SAP Solution Manager
Additional Info:
Onsite requirement: Must be available to work in Oakland, CA office 2-4 times a month
Start date: ASAP, contingent on laptop availability (personal device needed temporarily)
