What You"ll Do:
Review drawings and contracts to identify issues early, prepare schedules with input from trades, and manage permits, materials, and labor requirements.
Oversee daily construction activities, coordinate trades, monitor progress and quality, and escalate concerns to stakeholders as needed.
Enforce safety standards, lead orientations, distribute PPE, and address worker safety questions and non-compliance.
Maintain accurate records using construction software, manage purchase orders and invoices, and ensure costs align with estimates.
Handle change orders with proper documentation and coordination, and support client handover by organizing move-in and orientation.
What you Bring:
Minimum of five years' construction supervisor/superintendent level experience in Institutional and Commercial Construction.
Knowledge of interpreting, coordinating, and analyzing blueprints and shop drawings and distilling it to actionable information on the construction site.
Knowledge of construction techniques, contract interpretation, and safety regulations.
Effective supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities to ensure consistent completion of projects on-time, on budget and to the clients' satisfaction
Good understanding of local building code requirements.
Strong communication skills and proactive problem-solver that can manage difficult situations with positive results.
Prior experience working as a skills trade person, and with a post-secondary education in construction management.
Familiarity with the use of construction software preferably MS Project, and other office tools like Microsoft Office.
