Overview of the Java Developers role

We are looking for highly skilled Java Developers to join a secure government project with a critical deadline. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale system where your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS will be essential. You will be part of a collaborative team, building scalable solutions and solving complex problems that have a real impact.

Key Responsibilities For Java Developers

Design, develop, and deploy backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and maintain scalable APIs
Analyse schemas and write optimised SQL queries against large datasets
Work closely with DevOps on Docker containerisation and cloud deployment in AWS
Contribute to architectural decisions and shape technical roadmaps
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers

Essential Skills For Java Developers

Strong expertise in Java (8/11/17+) and core libraries
Proven experience with Spring Boot and microservices
Strong background in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM)
Knowledge of Kafka or similar messaging systems
Advanced SQL skills with query optimisation
Experience building REST / JSON APIs
Proficiency with Docker for local and cloud deployments
Excellent communication skills

Nice-to-have Skills For Java Developers

Knowledge of JavaScript & ReactJS
Familiarity with Amazon Aurora / RDS
Experience with JUnit and testing frameworks
