About the Role:
As a Product Management Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the Derivatives Product team. You will work alongside product managers, traders, quants, operations, and technology partners to help drive product initiatives, analyze data, and improve workflows. This role provides exposure to investment operations, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment. The Product Management Intern position reports to the Senior Manager and can be based out of our Topeka, or Overland Park, Kansas office, or our Des Moines, Iowa office. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
Assist product managers and product owners with project planning, documentation, and reporting.
Support the creation and refinement of product backlog items, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
Analyze business and financial data to generate insights and support decision-making.
Partner with technology teams to document system requirements and test new functionality.
Participate in issue tracking, troubleshooting, and validation of product features.
Help prepare materials for team meetings, product reviews, and stakeholder updates.
Contribute to knowledge management by organizing documentation, workflows, and process manuals.
Conduct product or requirement research with an emphasis on quantitative analysis, calculations, process mapping, documenting requirements, and translating findings into actionable insights to support product roadmap discussions.
What We're Looking For:
A current full-time student, with the ability to begin as soon as possible; working 19 hours per week during the school year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer months.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of financial instruments; exposure to derivatives is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with databases or SQL a plus.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred, working towards CFA, FRM, or similar certification.
Preferred, interest in investment management, financial technology, or product management.
Preferred, coursework or project experience related to finance, data analysis, or software development.
Preferred, familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
