Hiring: Data Engineering Tech Lead

Location: Hybrid - 2 days/week in London office

Duration: 6-month contract (with strong potential to extend)

Type: Inside IR35

I am recruiting a Data Engineering Tech Lead to join an exciting project focused on building scalable, high-performance data platforms.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Lead the technical delivery of large-scale data platform solutions.

- Design and optimize Databricks DLT (Delta Live Tables) pipelines for performance and cost.

- Work with structured streaming and high-volume data processing.

- Translate business requirements into technical tasks (PBIs, delivery plans).

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assign tasks to a team of 7-10 engineers.

- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

- Drive data management and governance best practices.

What You Bring:

- Proven experience in building and scaling data platforms, ETL pipelines, and data governance frameworks.

- Deep expertise in Databricks, especially DLT, structured streaming, and performance tuning.

- Strong communication and leadership skills to guide technical teams (not line management).

- Ability to break down complex business use cases into actionable technical tasks.
