Job Title: Applications Project Manager

Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Applications Project Manager to lead and deliver complex software development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application delivery (not infrastructure), with proven expertise in managing large-scale, multimillion-dollar IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project management for software/application development initiatives.
Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Manage project financials for initiatives valued at $5M+, including forecasting and reporting.
Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups across business, technology, and executive levels.
Drive execution using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies as appropriate.
Oversee change management, release management, and executive reporting activities.
Ensure quality and compliance with enterprise PMO standards and governance processes.
Identify risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure timely and successful delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience managing IT software development projects.
Proven track record managing large-scale projects ($5M+) including financial accountability.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management across technical and business functions.
Expertise in executive-level reporting, change management, and release planning.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Telecom industry experience is considered a strong asset.

Preferred Qualifications

PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with enterprise application portfolios in large organizations.
Strong understanding of SDLC processes and modern software delivery practices.
