We are searching for a detail-oriented and driven student or recent graduate to join our growing team as a Data Engineering Intern. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced early-stage startup environment, and to work at the bleeding edge of Artificial Intelligence.
High performers will be considered for conversion to a full-time role.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities
Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architectures and large-scale processing systems.
Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects.
Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
Develop data ingestion and collection systems.
Extract data from a variety of sources and manage and optimize data flows.
Implement data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
Ensure data quality and accessibility for advanced analytics and data science applications.
Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
Conduct research for industry and business questions.
Use new and creative methods to design and build the infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading of data from various data sources.
Qualifications (must-haves)
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Completed or in-progress Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, as well as a variety of databases, both SQL and NoSQL.
Proficiency in object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, etc.
Demonstrated ability to build processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation
This is an unpaid position. High performers will be considered for conversion to a full-time role.
