Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

As a Data Scientist apprentice (DSD26), this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you will: 

Support the team in sourcing, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis and modelling.
Learn to use data science tools (Python, Jupyter, cloud platforms) and apply them to real BBC projects.
Assist in running experiments and evaluations of machine learning models, guided by senior colleagues.
Contribute to simple visualisations and reports that help communicate findings to the wider team.
Stay curious about the latest developments in AI and data science and bring fresh ideas to discussions.
Learn about the value of data to organisations like the BBC.
Discover how the BBC uses data and increasingly AI technologies to improve its connection with audiences.
Unlock the power of data to deliver valuable audience insights
Be part of a team using data to transform the way the BBC operates.

You’ll Study For Your Industry Recognised Apprenticeship Qualification, Learning Both On And Off The Job. This Means You’ll Spend At Least One Day a Week Studying For a BSc (Hons) In Data Science With BPP University Remotely Learning

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:

Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
Not already hold a qualification in the same subject area at the same or a higher level than this apprenticeship.
