Position: USA Remote – QA Engineer II (Cypress & Playwright, Healthcare/UI React/API Testing)
Location: 100% Remote – U.S. only (working EST)
Length: 6+ Month Contract (Likely extension)
Target Pay Range: $48-53hr W2 (Benefits eligible after 60 days)
Work Auth: US Citizen, GC – Must be eligible to work on a W2 without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
About the Role:
A fast-growing healthcare technology organization is seeking a QA Engineer II to support a cloud-native platform initiative led by a specialized engineering consulting firm. This role focuses on exploratory testing, requirements analysis, and quality advocacy across the SDLC. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about improving patient outcomes through rigorous testing practices.
Responsibilities:
Experience with Cypress and Playwright for Front End Testing, E2E, and Cross-browser
Perform manual testing of UI (React/TypeScript), APIs, and end-to-end workflows
Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements
Conduct exploratory, regression, and ad-hoc testing to uncover edge cases
Document and track defects with reproducible steps using Jira or similar tools
Collaborate with automation engineers to identify high-impact test scenarios for automation
Validate data integrity, security, and compliance with HIPAA/SOC 2 standards
Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide QA input on user stories and acceptance criteria
Advocate for Shift-Left Testing by reviewing requirements early and identifying gaps
Qualifications:
5+ years of manual QA/testing experience, preferably in web or cloud-native applications
Strong skills in test case design, defect tracking, and requirement analysis
Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger), SQL for data validation, Web DevTools for debugging, and Jira/TestRail for test management
Familiarity with React-based UIs and basic TypeScript/JavaScript (reading code is a plus)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and manual testing integration
Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance) is a plus
ISTQB certification or equivalent is a bonus
